In 1995, a group of families who have children with
autism came together and realized that they had all, independently,
searched the same path for diagnosis, information, and ultimately
treatment for their children. The parents were not the only ones who
suffered through this process: the impact of the delay in treatment for
their children meant that critical time to make a difference was lost
forever in the search to simply find treatment.
Together, these parents founded the Foundation for
Autistic Childhood Education and Support (f.a.c.e.s. or FACES) whose mission is to
enable children with autism to reach their full potential by providing the
community a resource for
early intervention (ages 2-10), services for
adolescents with autism (ages 11-22) and community awareness of
pervasive developmental disorders.

About
Autism
Every 21 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism. It has
become an epidemic in our nation. As many as one million
American's are currently living with some form of autism. The

SOCIAL
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
f.a.c.e.s. Social Development Programs target
social skills in children 2-18 years of age. Children on the
autism/aspergers spectrum often do not learn social skills from
natural interactions. Individuals with social cognitive deficits
often require specific instruction and role-play practice to acquire
the skills necessary for them to get the most out of school, home &
community environments.
Programs start in September. Please contact
